An Aeronautical Parts Supply Chain Manager oversees the end-to-end sourcing, procurement, and logistics of critical aircraft components. They ensure the timely, cost-effective delivery of parts while maintaining strict compliance with aviation safety regulations, such as AS9100, FAA, and EASA standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with global OEMs and approved vendors.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all materials and parts have full traceability and meet rigid aerospace quality requirements.
- Inventory & Risk Management: Monitor stock levels for long-lead-time components and mitigate risks to prevent production delays or AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to align supply chain activities with production schedules.
- Supplier Performance: Evaluate vendor capabilities, track delivery times, and enforce corrective actions for non-conformance.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Industry Experience: Minimum 5–8 years in aviation procurement, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations), or aerospace manufacturing.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of aerospace quality frameworks (AS9100, NADCAP, APQP, and FAIR).
- Software Proficiencies: Advanced capability in ERP/MRP systems and data analytics tools.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional vendor negotiation, crisis management, and cross-cultural communication skills.
