About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Handloom Project Coordinator to manage and supervise handloom-related projects from planning to execution. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of handloom operations, machine handling, artisan coordination, production management, and marketing activities related to handloom products.
The ideal candidate should be capable of handling field operations, coordinating with weavers and stakeholders, ensuring quality production, and supporting product promotion and market development initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & Management
- Manage and coordinate complete handloom project activities from planning to execution.
- Ensure smooth functioning of handloom production units and project operations.
- Monitor project timelines, production targets, and daily operational activities.
- Prepare regular project reports, progress updates, and documentation.
- Coordinate with management, vendors, artisans, and field teams for effective implementation.
Handloom Production & Machine Handling
- Possess practical knowledge and operational experience in handloom machines and weaving processes.
- Supervise handloom machine operations, maintenance, and production quality.
- Support installation, troubleshooting, and smooth functioning of handloom equipment.
- Ensure proper utilization of raw materials and production resources.
- Maintain quality standards in weaving, finishing, and production processes.
Marketing & Business Development
- Support marketing and promotional activities for handloom products.
- Develop market linkages for handloom products through exhibitions, local markets, and institutional networking.
- Coordinate branding, product display, and promotional campaigns.
- Identify new opportunities for product sales and market expansion.
- Maintain relationships with buyers, customers, and stakeholders.
Team Coordination & Field Management
- Coordinate with weavers, artisans and field staff for project implementation.
- Conduct regular field visits and monitoring activities.
- Provide training and operational guidance to project teams whenever required.
- Ensure proper communication and coordination among all stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Textile, Handloom, Rural Development, Fashion Technology, or related field.
- Relevant experience in handloom projects, weaving operations, or textile sector preferred.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in handling handloom or textile-related projects.
- Strong knowledge of handloom weaving techniques and machine operations.
- Experience in marketing and promotion of handloom products.
- Ability to coordinate with artisans, vendors, and field teams.
- Good communication, reporting, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel for field visits and project monitoring.
- Basic computer knowledge including MS Office and reporting documentation.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience working with rural development or artisan-based projects.
- Knowledge of traditional weaving practices and handloom product development.
- Ability to handle multiple project activities simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
