Job Summary
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, maintenance, and upkeep of all electrical systems, audio-visual equipment, air-conditioning systems, and general maintenance activities within the college campus. The role involves preventive and breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting institutional events, and maintaining uninterrupted operational efficiency of classrooms, laboratories, seminar halls, offices, hostels, and common facilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Maintenance
- Carry out routine inspection, servicing, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems, wiring, panels, switches, lighting fixtures, generators, UPS systems, and other electrical installations across the campus.
- Attend electrical breakdown complaints promptly and ensure timely rectification to avoid disruption of academic and administrative activities.
- Monitor electrical load distribution and ensure safe and efficient usage of electrical equipment.
- Replace faulty electrical components such as switches, sockets, MCBs, cables, lights, fans, and other accessories whenever required.
- Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for major electrical works and annual maintenance activities.
- Maintain proper records of maintenance activities, repairs, material usage, and service schedules.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, statutory regulations, and institutional maintenance procedures.
Audio and Audio-Visual System Maintenance
- Install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audio systems, microphones, amplifiers, speakers, projectors, and other audio-visual equipment used in classrooms, seminar halls, auditoriums, and conference rooms.
- Provide technical support during meetings, seminars, conferences, workshops, cultural events, and institutional functions.
- Ensure proper functioning and connectivity of sound systems and presentation equipment before scheduled events.
- Coordinate the setup and dismantling of audio systems during institutional programmes and events.
- Identify and rectify technical faults related to sound clarity, connectivity, wiring, and equipment performance.
- Maintain inventory and service records of audio and AV equipment.
Air Conditioning (AC) Maintenance
- Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of air-conditioning systems installed across the campus.
- Monitor the operational condition of AC units, including cooling efficiency, electrical connections, filters, drainage, and thermostats.
- Coordinate servicing, gas refilling, and repair activities with authorized AC service providers whenever required.
- Ensure uninterrupted functioning of AC systems in classrooms, laboratories, server rooms, offices, and seminar halls.
- Maintain service schedules and records for all air-conditioning units.
General Maintenance Support
- Attend and coordinate general maintenance complaints related to classrooms, offices, common areas, and campus infrastructure.
- Support maintenance activities related to minor plumbing, carpentry, fittings, fixtures, and institutional infrastructure as required.
- Assist in arranging facilities and technical support for institutional events, examinations, inspections, and special programmes.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper upkeep of electrical rooms, equipment storage areas, and maintenance tools.
- Monitor the availability of maintenance materials and report requirements for procurement.
- Support emergency maintenance activities during power failures, equipment breakdowns, or urgent institutional requirements.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all safety precautions while handling electrical and technical equipment.
- Ensure proper usage and storage of maintenance tools, testing instruments, and safety equipment.
- Report safety hazards, equipment risks, and maintenance concerns to the reporting authority on a timely basis.
- Adhere to institutional policies, safety guidelines, and operational procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate with academic and administrative departments for maintenance-related support.
- Assist in campus infrastructure improvement initiatives and preventive maintenance planning.
- Support energy conservation initiatives and efficient utilization of electrical resources.
- Undertake any other maintenance or technical responsibilities assigned by the management from time to time.

Working Conditions

- The employee may be required to work across different loactions blocks as per operational requirements.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
