Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated AutoCAD Draftsman to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to convert complex technical sketches, designs, and concepts into high-quality 2D and 3D technical drawings and plans. You will work closely with engineers and architects to ensure all drawings meet industry standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Drafting: Prepare detailed 2D architectural/engineering drawings, floor plans, sections, elevations, and 3D models using AutoCAD.
- Collaboration: Work alongside engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and translate rough sketches into accurate digital blueprints.
- Revisions: Modify and update existing drawings based on engineer markups, site changes, or client feedback.
- Standardization: Maintain and organize a digital library of drawings, ensuring all files follow company naming conventions and CAD standards.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry-standard drafting practices.
- Site Surveys: (Optional) Occasionally visit project sites to take measurements and gather data to ensure drawings match "as-built" conditions.
- Data Integration: Coordinate with the IT/Software team to ensure drawing metadata is correctly structured for our internal database (PostgreSQL).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a certified AutoCAD professional course.
- Experience: 2–5 years of professional experience in a drafting role.
- Software Expertise:
- High proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D) is mandatory.
- Familiarity with Revit, Civil 3D, or SolidWorks is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical maps, and engineering notes.
- Precision: Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and mathematical precision.
