About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Site Engineer to oversee the execution of a hotel construction project in Kaziranga, Assam. The role requires hands-on supervision of all civil construction activities, contractor management, project coordination, quality assurance, progress monitoring, and daily reporting to ensure timely completion of the project within approved quality standards and budget.
The ideal candidate should have proven experience in building construction projects and possess strong capabilities in site execution, project monitoring, stakeholder coordination, documentation, and follow-up management.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Site Execution & Construction Management
- Supervise and monitor day-to-day civil construction activities at the project site.
- Ensure execution of work as per approved architectural, structural, and construction drawings.
- Oversee excavation, foundation works, RCC works, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, roofing, external development, and finishing activities.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules and construction milestones.
- Coordinate site resources including manpower, machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor productivity and work quality of contractors and subcontractors.
- Ensure smooth execution of works from foundation stage through project handover.
2. Hotel Construction Coordination
Coordinate and supervise construction activities related to:
- Guest Rooms & Suites
- Reception & Lobby Areas
- Restaurant & Dining Facilities
- Banquet & Conference Areas
- Swimming Pool & Recreational Facilities
- Landscaping & External Development Works
- Utility & Service Areas
- Staff Facilities
- Parking & Circulation Areas
- Coordinate with architects, interior designers, structural consultants, MEP consultants, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure construction activities meet hospitality industry standards and operational requirements.
3. Daily Reporting & Project Monitoring
- Prepare and submit Daily Progress Reports (DPR) to management.
- Record daily progress of all ongoing construction activities.
- Maintain detailed records of:
- Manpower deployment
- Machinery utilization
- Material receipts and consumption
- Work completed against planned targets
- Site challenges and corrective actions
- Maintain daily photographic progress reports.
- Monitor actual progress against project schedules and identify potential delays.
- Track daily targets and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Escalate project risks, bottlenecks, and delays to management promptly.
4. Follow-Up & Coordination Management
- Conduct daily coordination meetings with contractors, supervisors, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Prepare action trackers and ensure closure of pending activities.
- Follow up with vendors and suppliers regarding procurement and material deliveries.
- Coordinate with consultants for approvals, clarifications, and technical resolutions.
- Ensure timely implementation of management instructions and consultant recommendations.
- Maintain effective communication among all project stakeholders.
5. Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Ensure all construction works comply with approved specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of workmanship and materials.
- Monitor concrete quality, reinforcement works, waterproofing systems, finishing works, and structural components.
- Identify quality deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain QA/QC records and inspection reports.
- Ensure minimal rework and defect-free execution.
6. Contractor & Vendor Management
- Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to project requirements.
- Monitor contractor performance and productivity.
- Verify completed quantities and contractor billing submissions.
- Ensure timely mobilization of resources and materials.
- Assist in vendor evaluation and coordination.
7. Quantity Verification & Billing
- Verify quantities executed on-site.
- Maintain measurement sheets and site records.
- Review contractor bills and certify completed works.
- Assist in BOQ verification and cost monitoring.
- Monitor material usage and wastage control.
8. Documentation & MIS Management
- Maintain site diaries, project records, and progress reports.
- Keep updated records of:
- Drawings and revisions
- Consultant approvals
- Material approvals
- Quality reports
- Safety records
- Contractor communications
- Prepare Weekly Progress Reports (WPR) and Monthly Progress Reports (MPR).
- Support management with project data for review and decision-making.
9. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and site regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Monitor adherence to statutory and local building regulations.
- Report and address safety concerns immediately.
- Promote a safe and disciplined work environment.
10. Project Completion & Handover
- Assist in snagging and de-snagging activities.
- Coordinate final inspections and consultant approvals.
- Ensure completion of punch-list items.
- Support project commissioning and final handover activities.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience Required
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in building construction projects.
- Experience in hotel, resort, hospitality, commercial, or premium infrastructure projects preferred.
- Experience handling projects independently from foundation to finishing stage will be an advantage.
