About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance & Accounting Associate to support our US-based mortgage client. The selected candidate will work closely with the US Finance & Accounting team, assisting with financial reporting, reconciliations, analysis, and month-end close activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to international finance operations in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the US Finance & Accounting team with financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting activities.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Perform financial analysis and investigate variances, discrepancies, or unusual transactions.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Support audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
- Coordinate effectively with the US Finance team to deliver timely and accurate financial information.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with ad hoc financial projects and reporting requirements as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting international finance operations is an advantage.
- Exposure to audit, compliance, or financial reporting processes.
- Candidates from diverse accounting backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Prior US mortgage industry experience is not required.
