JusPlay is a fast-growing toy rental and party setup business serving Delhi NCR and Agra. Our Shopify store is the core of our business — it handles rentals, bookings, location-based pricing, and multi-app workflows. We're looking for a developer who can keep this ecosystem running smoothly and evolve it as we scale.
What this role actually is
This is not a "build a new theme" role. Our store is live and running. Your primary job is to make sure the multiple apps installed in our store work together seamlessly, resolve conflicts when they don't, and build custom code where the apps can't do it natively.
Our stack involves rental cycle management, subscription/recurring logic, payment gateways, location-based delivery rules, damage waiver fees, GST invoicing, and SEO apps. These need to coexist without breaking each other — that's your core mandate.
Key Responsibilities
Shopify Liquid experience is mandatory — applications without it will not be considered
- App interoperability (primary focus): Ensure all installed Shopify apps work together without conflicts. Diagnose and resolve issues where apps clash at cart, checkout, or inventory level. Write custom code/bridging logic where native integration falls short.
- Custom development: Build custom Liquid sections, snippets, and JavaScript functionality where our business logic isn't supported by off-the-shelf apps — e.g. location-based minimum order values, duration selectors, conditional delivery date restrictions.
- Storefront maintenance: Keep the customer-facing website fast, stable, and visually correct across mobile and desktop. Mobile performance is critical — the majority of our traffic is mobile.
- Performance & Core Web Vitals: Actively monitor and improve LCP, CLS, and INP scores. Our INP has been a known problem area affecting Google Ads Quality Score — improving this is a defined deliverable.
- Technical SEO: Maintain schema markup, meta structure, sitemap health, and page speed as they affect organic ranking. Coordinate with our SEO apps without creating conflicts between them.
- Bug response: Triage and resolve website-breaking issues rapidly (see SLA below).
- Collaboration: Work with the founder, marketing, and operations to implement campaign pages, new product launches, and operational features.
Required Skills
- 2+ years hands-on Shopify development experience
- Strong Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (JS proficiency is essential — most of our custom logic is JS-driven)
- Demonstrated experience debugging app conflicts in a multi-app Shopify store (please describe a specific example in your application)
- Shopify Admin API and Storefront API familiarity
- Core Web Vitals optimization, particularly on mobile
- Git version control
- Technical SEO fundamentals
Preferred
- Experience with Indian payment gateways (Razorpay) and their Shopify limitations
- Experience with rental, subscription, or booking-model Shopify stores
Bug Response SLA
- Critical (site down, checkout broken, payment failing): Acknowledged within 15 minutes, work begins immediately, regardless of day or hour
- High (a feature is broken but orders can still be placed): Same-day resolution
- Medium (visual bugs, non-blocking issues): Within 48 hours
Engagement Details
- Part-time / retainer basis
- On-site at our Gurgaon office minimum 2 days per week
- Remote for remaining days, with availability on WhatsApp during business hours
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
