Shree Ambica Auto Sales & Service is seeking an experienced, leadership-driven Workshop Manager to oversee our busy automotive service department. In this role, you will be entirely responsible for managing workshop operations, leading a team of mechanics and service advisors, and maximizing workshop productivity. Your primary goal is to ensure high-quality vehicle repairs, minimize turnaround time, and maintain excellent customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management: Supervise the daily workflow of the workshop; assign repair jobs to mechanics based on skill level to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and evaluate a team of service technicians, helpers, and service advisors; enforce discipline, punctuality, and safety protocols.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed repair jobs and conduct final test drives to ensure all technical complaints are resolved properly before vehicle delivery.
- Customer Diagnostics: Assist service advisors with complex mechanical/electrical vehicle diagnostics and handle escalated customer inquiries professionally.
- Inventory & Tooling: Oversee workshop inventory, ensure necessary spare parts are ordered promptly, and maintain workshop equipment and diagnostic tools in top condition.
- Revenue & Metrics: Drive service revenue by monitoring key metrics, reducing repeat complaints, and recommending additional necessary services to clients honestly.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is highly preferred.
- Experience: 3 to 5+ years of proven experience in automotive workshop management or as a Senior Service Advisor/Technical Head.
- Technical Expertise: Strong diagnostic knowledge of multi-brand commercial vehicles (matching your dealership's profile).
- Leadership Skills: Excellent team-handling capabilities with the ability to motivate technicians under tight deadlines.
- Communication: Fluency in the local language [e.g., Gujarati/Hindi] and basic English for system invoicing and reporting.
- Tech Savvy: Familiarity with automotive dealer management software (DMS) and basic computer applications.
