About the Role
International Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT) is seeking a qualified and passionate Textile Design Faculty to deliver academic instruction, practical training, and industry-relevant knowledge to students. The role involves teaching textile concepts, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum development in line with current industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver lectures and practical sessions in textile design and related subjects
* Teach concepts such as textile fibers, yarns, fabrics, surface ornamentation, dyeing, printing, and fabric construction
* Plan and prepare lesson plans, assignments, and teaching materials
* Guide students in practical work, projects, and portfolio development
* Evaluate student performance through assessments, exams, and practical submissions
* Stay updated with current textile trends, materials, and industry practices
* Participate in academic meetings, workshops, exhibitions, and institute activities
* Maintain discipline, academic records, and attendance
* Support students in understanding industry expectations and career pathways
Required Qualifications & Skills
Degree/Diploma in Textile Design / Textile Technology / Fashion & Textile or a related field
* Proven teaching experience in textiles (preferred)
* Strong subject knowledge and practical understanding of textiles
* Good communication and classroom management skills
* Ability to engage, mentor, and motivate students
* Familiarity with textile tools, techniques, and industry practices
Experience Requirements
Minimum 1–3 years of teaching or industry experience in the textile domain
* Freshers with strong academic background may also be considered
