Job Summary:
The TGT Music Teacher is responsible for teaching music theory and practice to middle school students (Grades 1–8), fostering musical skills, creativity, and appreciation for Indian and Western music. The role includes preparing students for performances, school events, and competitions while supporting their overall holistic development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging music lessons as per CBSE/School curriculum
- Teach vocal and/or instrumental music (Indian/Western)
- Train students in rhythm, melody, notation, and music appreciation
- Prepare students for assemblies, cultural programs, competitions, and annual events
- Assess students’ progress and maintain records of performance and participation
- Identify and nurture musically gifted students
- Maintain and care for musical instruments and music room resources
- Collaborate with teachers and coordinators for interdisciplinary activities
- Ensure discipline, safety, and a positive learning environment during classes
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and school events as required
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music (B.Music / B.A Music) – Mandatory
- B.Ed. (preferred as per CBSE norms)
- Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience in a school (preferred)
- Proficiency in Indian Classical / Western / Vocal / Instrumental Music
- Knowledge of CBSE curriculum and assessment methods
