Position Summary
The Head – MEP is responsible for leading the planning, design coordination, execution, quality assurance, commissioning, and maintenance strategy of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, HVAC, ELV, and Utility systems across projects. The role ensures timely delivery, cost optimization, regulatory compliance, and adherence to the highest standards of safety and quality.
The incumbent will lead multidisciplinary MEP teams, collaborate with architects, structural consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders, and drive innovation through sustainable engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement MEP execution strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead and mentor MEP engineering teams across multiple projects.
- Establish engineering standards, SOPs, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement through technology adoption and value engineering.
- Build a high-performance engineering culture focused on quality, safety, and efficiency.
Project Planning & Execution
- Oversee end-to-end MEP activities from concept to project handover.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, civil, and interior teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure milestone achievement.
- Resolve technical issues affecting project progress.
Design Management
- Review and approve MEP designs prepared by consultants.
- Ensure compliance with applicable national and international engineering standards.
- Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Validate equipment selection, load calculations, and system sizing.
Construction Management
- Supervise installation and execution of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV, and Utility systems.
- Ensure adherence to approved drawings and quality standards.
- Monitor contractor performance and productivity.
- Conduct regular site inspections and technical audits.
- Ensure compliance with construction methodologies and engineering specifications.
Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage MEP budgets.
- Monitor project costs against approved estimates.
- Evaluate vendor quotations and technical bids.
- Recommend cost-saving opportunities through engineering optimization.
- Review and certify contractor bills.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Participate in vendor evaluation and technical negotiations.
- Finalize technical specifications for procurement.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment.
- Evaluate contractor performance and maintain strategic vendor relationships.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local statutory regulations and industry codes.
- Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Conduct technical inspections and audits.
- Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Lead commissioning and testing activities.
Risk Management
- Identify technical and project execution risks.
- Develop mitigation plans.
- Ensure proactive issue resolution across project teams.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, government authorities, contractors, and internal departments.
- Present project progress and technical updates to senior management.
- Participate in project review meetings and strategic planning sessions.
Commissioning & Handover
- Lead testing, commissioning, and performance validation of MEP systems.
- Ensure preparation of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and close-out documentation.
- Support facility management teams during project transition.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Master's Degree (preferred).
- Professional certifications in Project Management, HVAC, Electrical Systems, or Building Services are an advantage.
Experience
- 10–15+ years of experience in MEP engineering and project execution.
- Minimum 8 years in a leadership role managing large-scale projects.
- Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare, hospitality, or mixed-use developments.
- Proven experience handling multiple large-value projects simultaneously.
