We are looking for an experienced Python Team Lead to design, develop, and deliver scalable microservices and APIs that power AI/GenAI enabled applications.
. The role focuses on building robust backend services in Python using FastAPI/Flask/Django, integrating LLM and AI services such as Azure OpenAI/OpenAI, and deploying cloud native applications on Azure using containers and Kubernetes.
. The ideal candidate should be strong in Python backend architecture, microservices design, API engineering, Azure cloud deployment, and production grade integration of AI services into enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Development
. Design and build Python based microservices and APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
. Develop scalable, secure, and high performance backend systems.
. Define and enforce API standards (REST/GraphQL), coding standards, and microservices best practices.
. Develop container ready applications using Docker and collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment architecture.
. Partner with DevOps teams to deploy and manage applications on Azure (AKS, App Services).
. Support CI/CD implementation and optimization by providing application build, testing, deployment, and release requirements.
. Ensure applications meet security, scalability, reliability, and production readiness standards.
. Collaborate with DevOps teams to troubleshoot deployment, performance, and operational issues.
AI / LLM Integration
. Integrate AI/LLM services (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, etc.) into applications
. Design& Practice Secure AI Integration
. Establish prompt engineering and AI safety practices
Data & Performance
. Design and optimize data models using PostgreSQL
. Work with NoSQL databases (Azure Cosmos DB/Mongo– good to have)
. Define and monitor SLOs (latency, reliability, throughput)
Observability & Reliability
. Implement logging, monitoring, and tracing (Azure Monitor/Prometheus)
. Lead incident management and system performance improvements
Leadership & Collaboration
. Lead, mentor, and guide a team of developers
. Conduct code reviews and drive engineering excellence
. Collaborate with product, DevOps, and architecture teams

Required Skills
. Strong hands on expertise in Python backend development using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
. Proven experience designing and developing microservices and production grade APIs.
. Hands on experience building backend services for AI/GenAI enabled applications.
. Experience integrating LLM/AI services such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, or similar APIs into enterprise applications.
. Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application delivery.
. Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL and backend data model design.
. Solid understanding of CI/CD, Git, DevOps practices, API security, and application performance optimization.
. Good understanding of secure AI integration, prompt handling, responsible AI guardrails, and production monitoring for AI enabled services.
. Experience leading engineering teams, reviewing designs/code, and driving technical delivery
Good to Have
. Experience with RAG frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
. Exposure to embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, or Azure AI Search.
. Knowledge of event driven architecture using Kafka, Azure Service Bus, or equivalent messaging platforms.
. Familiarity with AI safety, security, compliance, and governance practices.
. Experience with response streaming, async processing, background jobs, and high concurrency APIs.
. Exposure to frontend collaboration, Agile delivery, and enterprise architecture processes.
