Job Title: Senior Safety Engineer (Civil Construction)Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Senior Safety Engineer with a strong background in Civil Engineering to oversee, implement, and manage comprehensive Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols at our construction project sites in Hyderabad.
The successful candidate will be responsible for structural safety compliance, high-risk construction hazard mitigation, and fostering a zero-harm culture among the site execution teams and labor workforce.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education & Experience:
- Degree Holders: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of core civil construction safety experience.
- Diploma Holders: Diploma in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of core civil construction safety experience.
- Mandatory Safety Certification: A recognized post-graduate diploma or certification in Industrial Safety (e.g., ADIS, Regional Labour Institute (RLI) certification, or NEBOSH IGC).

Key ResponsibilitiesCivil & Structural Safety Governance
- Formulate and execute site-specific Health and Safety Management Plans tailored to large-scale civil infrastructure, high-rise, or commercial construction.
- Ensure absolute compliance with the Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act, National Building Code (NBC) safety guidelines, and Telangana state labor and environmental regulations.
- Review structural drawings and method statements from a safety perspective prior to execution.
High-Risk Civil Hazard Management
- Conduct strict Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) specifically for heavy civil activities: deep excavations, piling, shuttering, scaffolding erection, bar bending, and concreting.
- Supervise structural stability inspections for temporary structures, including staging, formwork, and multi-tier scaffolding systems, ensuring green-tag compliance before access is granted.
- Oversee the rigid implementation of the Permit to Work (PTW) system for critical civil operations, including working at heights, heavy structural lifting, and confined space entries.
Audits, Investigations & Reporting
- Conduct daily site walk-throughs and routine safety audits to detect unsafe conditions, structural risks, or non-compliant behaviors, enforcing immediate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Lead root-cause analysis investigations for all near-misses or structural incidents and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
- Maintain flawless documentation of safe man-hours, equipment fitness certificates (cranes, transits, concrete pumps), and safety logs for client and management reviews.
Training & Workforce Safety Culture
- Lead targeted safety training sessions covering civil-specific risks, such as fall protection systems, excavation shoring, and safe material handling.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks (TBT) and promote a proactive hazard-reporting culture among sub-contractors and site engineers.
- Coordinate periodic emergency mock drills (e.g., height rescue, structural collapse response) with the site team.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Thorough understanding of civil construction sequences and the engineering principles behind temporary structures (scaffolding, formwork load capacities).
- Strong leadership with the authority to issue "Stop Work" notices for non-compliant or hazardous civil practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi; proficiency in Telugu is highly preferred to effectively manage and instruct the local labor force.
- Competence in reading structural blueprints and using MS Office for documentation and metric tracking.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
