About the Role
Alankaram is looking for a passionate 3D CAD Designer to design premium solid wood furniture using SolidWorks. The ideal candidate should be able to transform concepts into production-ready designs while collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure quality and functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Prepare BOMs and technical documentation.
- Design furniture using wood, plywood, veneers, laminates, metal, glass, and hardware.
- Develop joinery, assembly, and shop drawings.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and quality teams.
- Support product development, prototyping, and design improvements.
- Maintain design revisions and engineering documentation.
Requirements
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Furniture Design, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in furniture or product design.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (AutoCAD is a plus).
- Knowledge of furniture construction, joinery, woodworking, CNC processes, and manufacturing.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
