Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Draftsman to prepare structural drawings, detailing, and related technical documents for construction projects. The candidate should have good knowledge of structural drafting, civil drawing interpretation, and MEP drawing coordination to support smooth project execution. The role involves close coordination with structural engineers, architects, MEP teams, and site execution teams to ensure accurate and clash-free drawings.
Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Drafting & Detailing
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, shop drawings, and construction drawings based on design inputs and engineer instructions.
- Draft RCC, steel, and foundation drawings including plans, sections, elevations, and structural detailing.
- Prepare reinforcement details, bar bending schedules, connection details, and general arrangement drawings.
- Modify and update drawings based on design changes, consultant comments, and site conditions.
Civil & Architectural Drawing Coordination
- Review and understand civil and architectural drawings for proper coordination with structural layouts.
- Ensure structural drawings align with approved architectural and civil plans.
- Assist in identifying drawing mismatches, dimensional issues, and execution conflicts.
MEP Drawing Knowledge & Coordination
- Review and understand MEP drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) for coordination with structural and architectural drawings.
- Identify and help avoid clashes between structural members, slab openings, service shafts, ducts, electrical conduits, and plumbing layouts.
- Coordinate with MEP and project teams for revisions and service-related drawing requirements.
Drawing Revisions & Documentation
- Maintain proper records of drawing revisions, issue status, and approvals.
- Ensure drawings are properly labeled, updated, and filed as per company standards.
- Prepare revised drawings and support as-built drawing preparation after execution changes.
Site Coordination Support
- Support site teams by providing drawing clarifications when required.
- Incorporate site changes and revised dimensions into structural drawings.
- Coordinate with engineers, site supervisors, and consultants to resolve drawing discrepancies.
Quality & Accuracy
- Ensure all drawings are prepared accurately and in line with project standards, codes, and specifications.
- Verify dimensions, levels, annotations, and detailing before issue.
- Follow drafting standards, layer systems, and drawing templates as per company practice.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / Certification in Civil Drafting / Structural Drafting / Civil Engineering
- Additional training in AutoCAD / Revit / structural detailing software is preferred
Required Experience
- 2–5 years of experience as a Structural Draftsman / Civil Draftsman
- Experience in RCC and steel structural drawings
- Exposure to architectural, civil, and MEP drawing coordination
- Experience in residential, commercial, interior fit-out, or construction projects will be preferred
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of structural drafting and detailing
- Good understanding of RCC, steel, and foundation drawings
- Ability to read and interpret structural, civil, architectural, and MEP drawings
- Knowledge of MEP coordination and service openings / layout coordination
- Good drawing revision and documentation management
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coordinate with engineers, architects, MEP teams, and site staff
Software Knowledge
- AutoCAD – Mandatory
- Revit – Preferred
- MS Office / Excel
- Knowledge of Tekla / STAAD / other drafting or detailing software is an added advantage
