Job Summary
The Content Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, editing, and optimizing news articles, feature stories, blogs, press releases, and digital content. The ideal candidate should possess excellent writing skills, strong research abilities, and a solid understanding of journalism standards, digital publishing, and SEO best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, write, and edit news articles, feature stories, opinion pieces, and blog content.
- Create engaging and SEO-optimized content for the V-News website and digital platforms.
- Write compelling headlines, summaries, captions, and meta descriptions.
- Verify facts and ensure all published content is accurate, balanced, and properly sourced.
- Cover a wide range of topics, including politics, business, technology, education, sports, entertainment, health, and current affairs.
- Coordinate with Reporters, Editors, Social Media Executives, and Graphic Designers to develop complete news stories.
- Rewrite and update breaking news articles as new information becomes available.
- Ensure all content complies with editorial policies, legal guidelines, and journalistic ethics.
- Proofread and edit content for grammar, clarity, readability, and consistency.
- Stay updated with current affairs, industry trends, and audience interests.
- Maintain the company's tone of voice and editorial standards across all content.
Required Skills
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in Hindi and English.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of journalism ethics and editorial standards.
- Understanding of SEO writing and keyword optimization.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), such as WordPress.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content under tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced newsroom.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in news writing, digital publishing, content writing, or journalism.
- Freshers with exceptional writing skills, strong language proficiency, and a portfolio of published work may also apply.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing for a digital news portal or media organization.
- Knowledge of Google Trends, Google Search Console, and basic SEO tools.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted writing tools while maintaining editorial quality.
- Experience in script writing for news videos, podcasts, or YouTube content.
- Basic understanding of social media content strategies.
