Job Description: Principal Associate – General Corporate
Location: Bengaluru
Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal Associate to join our General Corporate practice. The successful candidate will play a central role in advising clients on venture capital, joint ventures, and general commercial transactions, while mentoring junior team members and contributing to business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Transactions: Lead and execute corporate transactions from structuring through closing.
- Client Advisory: Provide strategic, commercially oriented advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day business law matters.
- Due Diligence: Oversee legal due diligence exercises; synthesise findings into actionable reports for clients and counterparties.
- Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate complex transaction documents—shareholder agreements, share purchase agreements, subscription agreements, commercial contracts, and ancillary deal documentation.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor associates and junior lawyers; manage workflow, deadlines, and quality across multiple matters.
- Business Development: Support client relationship management and contribute to pitches, thought leadership, and firm visibility initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: LL.B. from a recognised university (LL.M. or additional qualifications desirable) Bar Membership Enrolled with the Bar Council of India
Experience:
6–9 years PQE in general corporate / M&A at a reputed law firm
Sector Exposure Experience across technology, manufacturing, healthcare, or financial services preferred
