Zinnov is a global management consulting firm that helps organizations make decisions that actually get used — and deliver results that matter. For over two decades, we’ve partnered with leading enterprises, high-growth technology companies, and investors to answer some of the toughest questions they face:
Our work shapes market entry strategies, global operating models, M&A decisions, and long-term growth bets. We’re known for being data-led, execution-focused, and outcome-driven — not opinion-heavy slideware.
At Zinnov, how you work matters as much as what you deliver. We value independent thinking, crisp communication, and early ownership. With 450+ professionals across 10 global offices, we work across industries including Digital Services, ER&D, Enterprise Software, Semiconductors, Healthcare, BFSI, Automotive, Media & Telecom, and Private Equity.
Zinnov isn’t for everyone. It’s for people who want steep learning curves, honest feedback, and the chance to see their work influence real business decisions — not just presentations.
Why Globalization Excellence (GE)
Zinnov’s Globalization Excellence (GE) practice helps enterprises build and scale Global Capability Centers (GCCs) end-to-end — from Design & Discovery to Build, Scale, and Run.
In GE, you don’t work in silos. You:
- Own complex, end-to-end client journeys
- Work across GCC advisory, managed services, and BOT / outsourcing models
- Influence leadership decisions that shape long-term talent and operating strategies
This is where strategy meets execution — and where talent plays a defining role.
About the Role
As Knowledge Transition Leader, you will own end-to-end knowledge transition programs when global engineering and IT work moves to newly established or scaling Global Capability Centers (GCCs). This role is designed for a hands-on transition leader who can drive speed-to-productivity, continuity, and operational stability — not just create documentation.
You will act as the single point of accountability across client leadership, source (legacy) teams, and GCC teams — designing transition approaches, managing risks, and ensuring knowledge is transferred in a repeatable, scalable way across geographies.
What You’ll Do
Transition Strategy & Framework Ownership
- Design and execute structured knowledge transition frameworks across engineering, IT, and operational domains.
- Build transition plans aligned to GCC maturity stages, ramp-up timelines, and operating model requirements.
- Establish clear transition scope, success metrics, governance rhythms, and stakeholder responsibilities.
Speed-to-Productivity Enablement
- Accelerate GCC team ramp-up through hands-on enablement, structured learning paths, and embedded transition support.
- Reduce dependency on legacy/source teams through phased capability build and institutionalization.
- Ensure transition outcomes translate into real delivery readiness and stable operations.
Risk Mitigation & Continuity Management
- Identify and mitigate transition risks related to attrition, knowledge loss, documentation gaps, and delivery disruption.
- Build contingency plans and stabilization playbooks to protect business continuity during cutover phases.
- Drive readiness assessments and “go/no-go” checkpoints with leadership alignment.
Engineering & IT Knowledge Transfer
- Lead transitions across application, platform, DevOps, and IT operations knowledge areas.
- Ensure critical tacit knowledge is transferred through shadowing, pair working, runbooks, and guided practice — not just handover notes.
- Drive operational stability post-transition through structured hypercare and performance monitoring.
Global Stakeholder & Program Management
- Serve as the accountable lead across client leadership, source teams, and GCC delivery teams.
- Run tight governance: milestones, RAID logs, dependency tracking, and executive updates.
- Align stakeholders across North America, Europe, India, and APAC as needed.
Repeatable Model & Asset Building
- Build reusable transition playbooks, templates, and toolkits that can scale across multiple programs.
- Capture learnings and continuously improve transition approaches and measurable outcomes.
What You Bring
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of experience leading complex transition programs across engineering / IT / operations (GCC context preferred).
- Strong understanding of software engineering environments and/or enterprise IT and shared services.
- Experience managing multi-geo stakeholders and cross-functional delivery in high-change environments.
Key Skills
- Transition program leadership: planning, governance, dependency management, and execution rigor.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication.
- Risk management mindset with structured mitigation planning and stabilization playbooks.
- Ability to drive hands-on enablement and institutionalization (beyond documentation).
- Comfort operating across cultures and geographies with high accountability.
What Success Looks Like
- Knowledge transitions executed with clear structure, minimal disruption, and predictable outcomes.
- Faster ramp-up and measurable improvements in GCC time-to-productivity.
- Reduced dependency on source teams within planned timelines and cutover milestones.
- Stable operations post-transition with strong readiness, clear ownership, and tight hypercare execution.
- Repeatable transition models and assets that scale across multiple GCC journeys.
If you enjoy owning complex, high-stakes knowledge transitions end-to-end, aligning global stakeholders, and building repeatable playbooks that accelerate GCC productivity while protecting continuity — this role offers both impact and growth.
