About the Role
New Horizon Group of Schools is seeking a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented HR Assistant to support the Human Resources Department in managing day-to-day HR operations. The role involves recruitment coordination, employee onboarding, HR administration, documentation, employee engagement, and compliance while ensuring smooth HR processes aligned with the school's policies, culture, and values.
Experience
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Experience in the education or school sector will be preferred.
- Experience in recruitment, employee onboarding, HR operations, and employee engagement is desirable.
Work Environment
- Office-based role requiring regular interaction with teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Requires a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced educational environment.
Educational Qualification
- PGDM (HR), BMS (HR), MBA (HR), or an equivalent qualification in Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities
1. Onboarding & Employee Documentation
- Prepare offer letters, appointment letters, confirmation letters, and other employment-related documents.
- Coordinate induction and orientation programs for new employees.
- Ensure timely collection, verification, and maintenance of employee joining documents.
- Create and maintain employee personnel files in both physical and digital formats.
2. HR Operations & Administration
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRMS/MIS.
- Monitor employee attendance, leave records, punctuality, and regularization requests.
- Support payroll by ensuring timely submission of attendance and employee data.
- Ensure proper documentation and record management in compliance with organizational policies.
3. Employee Relations & Engagement
- Address routine employee queries related to HR policies, leave, attendance, and other HR processes.
- Assist in organizing employee engagement activities, training programs, workshops, celebrations, and welfare initiatives.
- Support grievance handling while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and employee-friendly work environment.
4. HR Compliance
- Ensure employee records comply with statutory and organizational requirements.
- Support implementation of HR policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in maintaining compliance with applicable labour laws and internal HR practices.
- Support audits by maintaining accurate HR documentation and records.
