Key ResponsibilitiesVAT Preparation
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns for UK clients.
- Review VAT reports before submission.
- Verify correct VAT coding for sales and purchase transactions.
- Understand and apply Standard VAT, Cash Accounting (Remittance Basis), Flat Rate Scheme, and Reverse Charge VAT where applicable.
- Prepare VAT working papers and supporting schedules.
- Identify VAT anomalies and escalate technical issues.
Bookkeeping Review
- Review bookkeeping completed by the bookkeeping team.
- Verify sales invoices, purchase invoices, receipts, and journals.
- Ensure transactions are correctly posted.
- Review Trial Balance before VAT preparation.
- Ensure accounting records are complete and accurate.
Bank Reconciliation
- Review bank reconciliations.
- Investigate unreconciled transactions.
- Identify duplicate or missing entries.
- Follow up on unidentified receipts and payments.
Client Information Review
Before drafting VAT, ensure all required records have been received, including:
- Bank statements
- Sales invoices
- Purchase invoices
- Credit notes
- Expense receipts
Prepare and communicate missing information requests where necessary.
Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure VAT returns comply with HMRC requirements.
- Check VAT registration details.
- Maintain accurate audit trails.
- Complete internal VAT checklists.
- Resolve review comments promptly.
Software Knowledge
Experience with one or more of the following:
- Xero
- QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Dext
- Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced)
- Bright Manager or similar Practice Management Software
- Microsoft Teams

- 1–3 years of experience in UK bookkeeping or VAT.
- Experience using Xero or QuickBooks Online.
- Experience preparing UK VAT returns.

- Experience working with UK accounting firms.
- Knowledge of Dext.
- Familiarity with Bright Manager or similar practice management software.
Mandatory Requirement
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills are mandatory.
- Candidates must be able to communicate confidently and professionally with UK managers and clients via Microsoft Teams, email, and written documentation.
- Strong grammar, clear pronunciation, and the ability to write professional emails and explain accounting queries are essential.
- Candidates may be required to attend video meetings with UK clients and should be comfortable speaking in English.
Shift time: 12 to 9 PM
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
