Job Summary
The Estimation & Costing Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for electrical power projects. The role involves analyzing tender documents, preparing BOQs, obtaining vendor quotations, estimating project costs, and coordinating with various departments to ensure timely submission of techno-commercial proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for EPC power projects, including transmission lines, substations, solar plants, and distribution works.
- Develop BOQs, material take-offs, and quantity calculations.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare rate analysis for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted activities.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams for technical inputs.
- Identify project risks and cost optimization opportunities.
- Prepare techno-commercial bid documents and support tender submissions.
- Maintain historical cost databases and estimation records.
- Monitor market trends for material prices and labor costs.
- Support contract negotiations and project handover to execution teams.
- Ensure compliance with client specifications and company standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 3–6 years of experience in estimation and costing for Electrical Power/EPC projects.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Electrical EPC projects.
- Experience in Transmission Lines, Substations, Solar, and Distribution projects.
- Proficiency in BOQ preparation and quantity estimation.
- Knowledge of tendering procedures and contract documentation.
- Good understanding of electrical equipment and project costing.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation software.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
