The Wooden & Modular Furniture Fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, and fitting wooden and modular furniture at manufacturing units, customer sites, offices, commercial establishments, and residential projects. The role requires accuracy, craftsmanship, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Assemble and install modular furniture, wardrobes, kitchen units, office furniture, and wooden fixtures.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, and installation plans.
- Measure installation areas and ensure proper fitting and alignment.
- Cut, shape, and adjust wooden components as required.
- Install hardware such as hinges, handles, locks, channels, and fittings.
- Ensure furniture is securely fixed and functions properly.
- Conduct repairs, adjustments, and maintenance of furniture when required.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow safety procedures and company quality standards.
- Coordinate with supervisors, site engineers, and customers during installation.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of woodworking and modular furniture installation.
- Ability to read technical drawings and measurements.
- Skilled in using carpentry and power tools.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma / Vocational Training in Carpentry, Woodwork, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in wooden and modular furniture fitting.
- Experience in modular kitchen, wardrobe, and office furniture installation is an advantage.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move furniture components.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
- Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods.
