Job Description: Senior Specialist – Aircraft Maintenance OversightPosition Summary
The Senior Specialist – Aircraft Maintenance Oversight is responsible for ensuring that aircraft maintenance activities performed by internal teams and third-party Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organizations comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, approved maintenance programs, and industry best practices. The role provides technical oversight of maintenance operations to ensure aircraft safety, airworthiness, reliability, and operational readiness while supporting cost-effective maintenance planning and execution.
Working closely with Engineering, Continuing Airworthiness Management (CAMO), Quality Assurance, Flight Operations, Supply Chain, and external maintenance providers, the Senior Specialist monitors maintenance performance, manages technical issues, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight of scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance performed by approved maintenance organizations and contracted MRO providers.
- Monitor compliance with applicable aviation regulations, approved maintenance programs, company procedures, and manufacturer requirements.
- Review maintenance documentation, work packages, inspection records, deferred defects, and aircraft technical records for completeness and regulatory compliance.
- Verify that maintenance activities are accomplished in accordance with approved data, maintenance manuals, engineering orders, and airworthiness requirements.
- Coordinate with Engineering, CAMO, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance Planning to ensure maintenance inputs are executed efficiently and on schedule.
- Monitor aircraft maintenance progress during heavy maintenance checks, modifications, lease transitions, and special projects.
- Identify maintenance discrepancies, technical risks, and compliance issues, ensuring timely corrective actions are implemented.
- Support oversight of Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Engineering Orders (EOs), and mandatory modifications.
- Evaluate maintenance provider performance using established KPIs, service level agreements, and quality metrics.
- Participate in supplier audits, maintenance facility assessments, and corrective action follow-up activities.
- Support aircraft reliability initiatives through analysis of recurring defects, delays, cancellations, and technical events.
- Coordinate technical issue resolution between maintenance providers, engineering teams, OEMs, and operational stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate maintenance records, technical documentation, and regulatory reports are maintained.
- Contribute to maintenance process improvements, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
- Support aircraft induction, redelivery, lease return, and entry-into-service activities as required.
- Participate in aircraft inspections, acceptance checks, and maintenance oversight visits at domestic and international maintenance facilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Aviation Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License, FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P), EASA Part-66 License, or equivalent aviation maintenance qualification is preferred.
- 7–10+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance, CAMO, engineering, quality assurance, or maintenance oversight within an airline, MRO, aircraft leasing company, or aviation organization.
- Strong knowledge of commercial aircraft maintenance practices and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs and continuing airworthiness requirements.
- Strong understanding of aviation regulations, including ICAO, FAA, EASA, GCAA, or other applicable civil aviation authority requirements.
- Experience overseeing line maintenance, base maintenance, heavy maintenance checks, and contracted MRO activities.
- Knowledge of aircraft technical documentation, maintenance planning systems, and engineering procedures.
- Familiarity with aircraft maintenance management systems such as AMOS, TRAX, Rusada, Ramco, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making skills.
- Excellent planning, organization, and project coordination abilities.
- Effective supplier management and contractor oversight experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and present findings to management.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance information systems.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Airbus and/or Boeing commercial aircraft fleets.
- Experience supporting aircraft lease transitions, induction, or redelivery projects.
- Knowledge of Reliability Programs, Maintenance Review Board (MRB) processes, and MSG-3 maintenance philosophy.
- Experience participating in regulatory audits and quality investigations.
- Certification or training in Safety Management Systems (SMS), Human Factors, or Quality Management Systems.
- Experience working in an international airline or multi-site maintenance environment.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹450,000.00 per month
