Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive BMS Technician (3+ Years) to oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of our Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC control infrastructure.The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in diagnosing complex hardware/software issues, managing automation networks, and ensuring maximum energy efficiency and facility reliability.You will play a critical role in ensuring optimal energy efficiency, climate control, and facility safety across the premises.
Key Responsibilities
- System Monitoring & Control: Continuously monitor the BMS workstation to ensure all HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and electrical subsystems are operating within designated parameters.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and rectify faults in BMS hardware and software, including controllers, DDC (Direct Digital Control) panels, sensors, actuators, and network communication loops.
- Alarms & Incident Response: Respond immediately to system alarms, isolate critical technical issues, and coordinate with the maintenance team to execute swift resolutions.
- Energy Management: Analyze system data and trends to optimize plant operations, schedule equipment runs efficiently, and minimize overall energy consumption.
- Calibration & Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine calibration of field sensors (temperature, pressure, humidity) and execute scheduled preventive maintenance plans for all automation infrastructure.
- Reporting: Maintain detailed logs of system faults, changes in control strategies, operational backups, and energy usage metrics.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a BMS Technician, ideally in commercial office buildings, data centers, hospitals, or large industrial facilities.
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical diploma / ITI trade qualification).
- In-depth practical knowledge of leading BMS platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Schneider Electric/EcoStruxure, Siemens Desigo, Johnson Controls Metasys, or Tridium Niagara).
- Hands-on proficiency with BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks networks.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems (Chillates, AHUs, VAVs, FCUs, Cooling Towers, VFDs) and electrical automation panels.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control wiring diagrams, and P&ID drawings.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts (day/night) and support on-call emergency responses.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
