Qualifications:
- B.Lib. / M.Lib. (Library and Information Science)
- Additional certifications in Library Management or Educational Technology will be an advantage.
Experience:
- 2–5 years of experience in managing a school library, preferably in a CBSE/ICSE school.
Profile Synopsis
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized Librarian who is passionate about fostering a love for reading and learning among students. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and storytelling skills, be proficient in library management practices, and create an engaging, reader-friendly environment that promotes literacy, research, and independent learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the school library, including cataloguing, circulation, and inventory of books and resources.
- Promote reading habits through storytelling sessions, book talks, reading programs, and literary activities.
- Guide students in selecting age-appropriate books and research materials.
- Develop and organize library resources to support the curriculum and student learning.
- Conduct library orientation sessions and encourage effective use of library resources.
- Coordinate book fairs, author interactions, reading challenges, and literacy initiatives.
- Maintain library records, issue and return systems, and annual stock verification.
- Support teachers with resource recommendations and research materials.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging library environment.
