Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of building construction projects and piling/foundation works. The role requires managing project schedules, budgets, resources, quality, safety, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring timely project delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution
- Lead and manage building construction and piling projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare project execution plans, work schedules, resource deployment plans, and construction methodologies.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, structural engineers, and contractors.
- Ensure project milestones are achieved within approved timelines and budgets.
Construction Management
- Supervise all site activities related to civil, structural, architectural, and piling works.
- Monitor pile foundation activities including:
- Bored Cast-in-Situ Piles
- Rotary Piling
- Driven Piles
- Micro Piles
- Sheet Piling (where applicable)
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Resolve technical issues arising during project execution.
Contract & Commercial Management
- Review project contracts and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Monitor project costs and prepare budget forecasts.
- Verify contractor and vendor bills.
- Manage change orders, claims, and project variations.
Quality Control
- Ensure implementation of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
- Monitor material testing, pile integrity testing, load testing, and quality documentation.
- Ensure compliance with IS Codes, NBC, and relevant construction standards.
Safety Management
- Enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies at all project sites.
- Conduct regular safety reviews and audits.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and client safety requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead project engineers, site engineers, surveyors, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Conduct performance reviews and mentor project teams.
- Allocate resources effectively to achieve project objectives.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and consultants.
- Attend project review meetings and present progress reports.
- Ensure timely communication regarding project status, risks, and mitigation measures.
Reporting
- Prepare and submit:
- Daily Progress Reports (DPR)
- Weekly Progress Reports
- Monthly Progress Reports
- Cost Control Reports
- Resource Utilization Reports
- Present project updates to management.
Qualifications
- B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering (Mandatory).
- M.Tech / MBA (Project Management) preferred.
- PMP Certification or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 15–20 years of experience in building construction projects.
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing piling and foundation projects.
- Experience handling projects valued at ₹50 Crore and above preferred.
- Proven experience in high-rise buildings, industrial buildings, commercial complexes, and infrastructure projects.
Technical Skills
- Project Planning using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- AutoCAD and construction drawing interpretation.
- Quantity estimation and billing.
- Knowledge of IS Codes, NBC, and construction standards.
- Budgeting and cost control.
- Risk management and project scheduling.
