Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Factory Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our rubber compounding manufacturing facility. The Factory Manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth production, effective manpower management, inventory control, customer-wise stock management, billing coordination, quality standards, dispatches, and overall factory operations.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of rubber compounding/manufacturing processes, good leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively between production, stores, accounts, sales, purchase, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management
- Plan, supervise, and monitor daily production activities to ensure production targets are achieved.
- Oversee rubber compounding operations, including mixing, processing, batching, and related manufacturing activities.
- Ensure production is carried out according to customer specifications, formulations, and quality requirements.
- Monitor machine utilization, production efficiency, wastage, downtime, and rejection levels.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure machinery and equipment remain operational.
- Identify production issues and take timely corrective action.
- Maintain proper production records and daily production reports.
2. Customer-Wise Stock Management
- Maintain accurate customer-wise stock statements for all finished goods, semi-finished goods, raw materials, and materials held on behalf of customers.
- Regularly reconcile physical stock with stock records/system entries.
- Track customer-specific materials, formulations, compounds, and pending quantities.
- Prepare and share customer-wise stock statements as required by management and customers.
- Monitor stock movement, consumption, production, dispatches, and balances for each customer.
- Ensure proper identification and segregation of customer materials to avoid mixing or stock discrepancies.
3. Inventory & Stores Management
- Monitor raw material, chemical, rubber, additives, packing materials, and finished goods inventory.
- Ensure adequate stock levels for uninterrupted production.
- Coordinate with the purchase team regarding material requirements and shortages.
- Maintain proper inward and outward records for all materials.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and investigate discrepancies.
- Minimize excess inventory, material wastage, and obsolete stock.
4. Billing & Documentation
- Coordinate with the accounts team for customer billing and invoicing based on production and dispatch details.
- Verify quantities, rates, customer details, job-work charges, material consumption, and other billing information before invoices are raised.
- Ensure timely preparation of invoices, delivery documents, job-work bills, and related documentation.
- Maintain records of production, dispatches, customer materials, and billing quantities.
- Coordinate with customers and accounts regarding billing discrepancies or clarifications.
5. Dispatch & Logistics
- Plan and supervise dispatches according to customer requirements and delivery schedules.
- Ensure finished goods are properly packed, labelled, weighed, and documented before dispatch.
- Coordinate with transporters and customers for timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and reconcile dispatched quantities with customer-wise stock.
6. Quality Control
- Ensure production meets defined quality standards and customer specifications.
- Coordinate with the quality team regarding testing, batch approvals, rejections, and corrective actions.
- Monitor batch consistency and investigate customer complaints related to product quality.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of production batches.
7. Manpower & Factory Supervision
- Supervise production workers, operators, helpers, store personnel, and other factory staff.
- Allocate manpower according to production requirements and workload.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and work performance.
- Train and guide employees on production procedures, safety, quality, and housekeeping.
- Ensure proper coordination between shifts and maintain effective shift handovers.
8. Maintenance, Safety & Housekeeping
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant and machinery.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and organized storage throughout the factory.
- Enforce workplace safety procedures and ensure employees use appropriate safety equipment.
- Identify potential safety hazards and take corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable factory, environmental, and safety requirements.
9. Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports covering production, stock, dispatches, wastage, machine utilization, and other operational parameters.
- Provide management with regular updates on factory performance and operational issues.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Purchase, Accounts, Stores, Quality Control, and Customers.
- Monitor pending production orders and ensure timely completion.
- Maintain proper records for management review and audits.

Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Rubber Technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in rubber compounding, rubber processing, manufacturing, or a similar factory environment.
- Experience in handling production teams and factory operations.
- Good understanding of rubber compounds, raw materials, mixing processes, and production procedures.
- Experience with inventory management, customer-wise stock control, billing coordination, and dispatch management.
- Good communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and production/inventory management systems is preferred.

Salary: As per experience and industry standards

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
