Fabric Development & Sourcing
- Develop fabrics as per buyer or garment merchandiser requirements
- Source fabrics from approved mills and suppliers
- Coordinate lab dips, strike-offs, handloom samples, and fabric swatches
Technical & Quality Control
- Ensure fabric specifications meet buyer standards (GSM, construction, composition, color fastness)
- Arrange fabric testing (physical & chemical) and obtain approvals
- Monitor shade banding and bulk fabric consistency
Costing & Negotiation
- Prepare accurate fabric costing
- Negotiate prices, MOQs, and lead times with mills
- Control fabric cost to meet garment price targets
Planning & Follow-Up
- Prepare fabric T&A plan aligned with garment production schedule
- Follow up with mills for timely fabric production and delivery
- Track lab dip, bulk, and test report approvals
Bulk Fabric Production Monitoring
- Monitor bulk fabric production status at mills
- Resolve issues related to quality, shade variation, or delays
- Ensure correct quantity and quality of fabric is produced
Color & Shade Management
- Coordinate color development and shade approvals
- Manage re-dyeing or corrections if shade mismatches occur
- Maintain shade continuity across lots
Delivery & Inventory Coordination
- Ensure fabric is delivered to factory on time
- Coordinate fabric inspection upon receipt
- Support fabric inventory control and issue planning
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise between buyers, garment merchandisers, mills, and QA teams
- Communicate fabric status updates regularly
- Handle buyer comments and corrective actions
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain fabric approval records, test reports, and mill confirmations
- Prepare status and delay reports for management
