Role Overview
The Plant Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Water Treatment Plants (WTP), and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP). The role requires a hands-on individual who can ensure consistent plant performance, maintain accurate records, and respond promptly to operational issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor all plant equipment including pumps, blowers, dosing systems, and control panels
- Conduct routine checks on water quality parameters such as pH, DO, turbidity, and flow rates
- Maintain daily operational logs and report anomalies to the site engineer
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and minor equipment repairs
- Ensure chemical dosing levels are maintained as per operational guidelines
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for scheduled servicing of equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards across the plant
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times
Qualifications & Experience
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating STP, WTP, or ETP plants
- Basic understanding of water treatment processes and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret operational data and plant schematics
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with SCADA or remote monitoring systems
- Knowledge of TNPCB compliance requirements
- Basic computer literacy for maintaining digital logs
Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹19,000.00 per month
