Job Description:
We are looking for a strong leader to build and lead a high-performing engineering team in India supporting advanced digital solutions within Epiroc.
This role combines team leadership, product ownership, and delivery responsibility. You will work closely with global stakeholders to understand technical requirements and ensure end-to-end delivery through India teams and selected external partners.
You will play a key role in translating complex engineering needs into scalable solutions—while building a stable, capable, and trusted delivery organization in India.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team & Capability Building
- Build and lead a cross-functional team across software, electronics, and engineering domains
- Recruit, mentor and develop talent to create a strong, long-term capability
- Establish a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement
2. Product Ownership & Delivery Leadership
- Act as Product Owner / Delivery Lead for selected initiatives
- Understand requirements from global experts and convert them into actionable backlogs
- Drive end-to-end delivery (scope, planning, execution, release coordination)
- Ensure alignment with product roadmaps and business goals
3. Technical Leadership (Balanced, Not Hands-on Coding Role)
- Provide sufficient technical depth to:
- Challenge requirements and clarify ambiguities
- Guide architecture and solution direction (with experts)
- Ensure effective collaboration between software, hardware, and system teams
4. External Supplier & Hardware Coordination
- Own coordination with external partners for:
- Repairs and lifecycle management
- Ensure quality, timelines, and integration with software deliveries
5. Stakeholder Management
- Act as the single point of ownership for delivery towards global stakeholders
- Build strong collaboration with product experts and engineering teams in Europe
- Provide clear communication on progress, risks, and dependencies
6. Operational Excellence
- Drive predictability in delivery (timelines, quality, cost)
- Manage budgets, resource allocation, and vendor contributions
- Continuously improve ways of working (agile, DevOps, hardware-software integration)
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Computer Science, Electronics, or related field)
- 10+ years of experience in engineering and delivery roles
- Proven experience leading cross-functional technical teams
- Experience working with global stakeholders in product organizations
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and agile methodologies
- Ability to work across both software and hardware-oriented environments
Nice to have:
- Background in IoT / embedded / industrial systems / connected products
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and data-driven solutions
- Experience working with external engineering suppliers or manufacturing partners
- Understanding of industries like mining, construction, or heavy equipment
