Job Description (JD) – Field Service Engineer (FSO) – IT Support & Asset InventoryJob Summary
The Field Service Engineer (FSO) will provide onsite IT support and perform a comprehensive IT asset inventory audit. The engineer will be responsible for desktop, laptop, printer, and basic network support while ensuring all IT assets are accurately documented. The completed inventory report will be submitted to the SBD IT Team for review to determine whether assets should be recycled, relocated, or shipped to another designated SBD location.
Key Responsibilities IT Support
- Provide onsite support for desktops, laptops, workstations, and peripheral devices.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair Windows desktop and laptop systems.
- Support Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, Teams, and standard business applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Install and replace computer hardware components including RAM, SSD/HDD, keyboards, mice, monitors, docking stations, and power supplies.
- Configure and support network printers, scanners, and multifunction devices.
- Perform printer installation, troubleshooting, and driver configuration.
- Provide IMAC (Install, Move, Add, and Change) services.
- Support user onboarding, workstation setup, and equipment deployment.
- Provide basic Active Directory account support (password resets, user verification, group membership as instructed).
- Perform basic networking tasks including:
- Network connectivity troubleshooting
- LAN/WAN verification
- TCP/IP configuration
- Wi-Fi troubleshooting
- Patch cable replacement
- Network port testing
- Basic switch port verification (under remote guidance)
- Coordinate with remote support teams and vendors for issue resolution.
- Document incidents, service requests, and work performed.
IT Asset Inventory
- Perform a comprehensive onsite inventory audit of all IT assets.
- Capture asset details including:
- Make
- Model
- Serial Number
- Asset Tag (if available)
- Device Type
- Physical Location
- Operational Status
- End-of-Life (EOL) / End-of-Support (EOS) Status
- Verify physical assets against existing inventory records.
- Identify missing, obsolete, duplicate, or unidentified assets.
- Capture photographs of assets where required.
- Update inventory records using the customer-provided template or asset management system.
- Submit the completed inventory report to the SBD IT Team for review.
- Support asset recycling, relocation, and shipment activities as directed by the SBD IT Team.

- 2–5 years of onsite IT Field Service or Desktop Support experience.
- Experience with enterprise hardware such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Cisco, and Microsoft devices.
- Familiarity with IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes.
- Experience working in enterprise or manufacturing environments is an advantage.
Pay: ₹1,500.00 - ₹2,000.00 per day
