About the Role
We produce MEP drafting deliverables — shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and coordination drawings — for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on UAE-based commercial, residential, and industrial projects. This role is responsible for producing accurate, standards-compliant AutoCAD drawings under the supervision of the design lead, working to UAE project schedules.
Own laptop for with Autocad is Mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare 2D shop drawings and fabrication drawings in AutoCAD for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems(
- Convert design intent/consultant drawings into construction-ready shop drawings with correct levels, sizing, and routing
- Apply UAE-relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE 62.1, DW172, UPC, Dubai Municipality/Trakhees requirements as applicable) under guidance
- Maintain drawing revision control, layer standards, and title block/documentation standards as per company templates
- Cross-check MEP layouts against architectural/structural drawings to flag routing conflicts
- Support quantity take-offs and material schedules where required
- Use company-standard AutoLISP tools for invert level calculations, block tagging, and drawing automation (training provided)
- Meet delivery deadlines aligned with UAE working hours/time zone overlap
- Participate in daily/weekly coordination calls with the Dubai-based design lead
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 1–4 years of experience in MEP drafting (freshers with strong AutoCAD portfolios may be considered for Junior Drafter track)
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) — mandatory
- Understanding of basic HVAC, plumbing, and drainage system layouts
- Ability to read and interpret architectural/structural drawings
- Comfortable working with layer standards, blocks, and title block templates
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Working knowledge of Revit MEP (Not mandatory)
- Exposure to Gulf/UAE project standards or prior work on UAE/GCC projects
- Willingness to learn company-standard AutoLISP automation routines
- English proficiency sufficient for direct client-facing coordination calls
- HAP & Ventilation Calculations
Skills & Attributes
- Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy
- Ability to work with minimal supervision once trained on standards
- Comfortable with UAE time-zone overlap (early morning or evening call windows)
- Willingness to learn firm-specific drawing standards and tools quickly
