We are looking for a skilled and responsible Lab Technician with 2–3 years of experience in a hospital/diagnostic laboratory. The candidate will be responsible for sample collection and processing, performing laboratory investigations, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, label, process and handle patient samples as per SOPs.
- Perform routine laboratory investigations in Hematology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology and Serology as per assigned competency.
- Operate laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning and daily maintenance.
- Follow internal quality control procedures and report any abnormal results or discrepancies to the concerned senior.
- Ensure proper sample identification, storage, transportation and disposal as per hospital protocols.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, registers, reports and documentation.
- Follow infection control, biomedical waste management and laboratory safety protocols.
- Perform equipment calibration/quality checks as per schedule and report equipment breakdowns promptly.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, phlebotomy staff and other departments for timely investigations and reporting.
- Maintain adequate stock of reagents, consumables and other laboratory supplies.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of patient information.
- Participate in internal audits, quality improvement activities and training programs.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Laboratory In-charge / Pathologist.
Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
- Hands-on experience with automated laboratory analyzers.
- Good sample collection and handling skills.
- Knowledge of Quality Control and NABH laboratory standards.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work effectively in shifts and under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Candidate Profile
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in a hospital/diagnostic laboratory preferred.
- DMLT / B.Sc. MLT / B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology qualification.
- Candidates with experience in a multispeciality hospital will be preferred.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including emergency/24×7 laboratory services.
