Job Summary
The Laser Cutting Machine Cum Operator & Setter is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC/Fiber/CO₂ laser cutting machines to produce metal components according to technical drawings and production requirements. The role includes machine setup, parameter adjustment, quality inspection, and basic maintenance to ensure accurate and efficient cutting operations.
Key Responsibilities1. Machine Setup & Operation
- Set up laser cutting machines according to job specifications and production drawings.
- Select proper cutting programs and adjust parameters such as speed, power, focus, and gas pressure.
- Load and unload metal sheets or raw materials into the machine.
- Perform trial cuts and ensure correct alignment before full production.
2. Machine Setting & Programming
- Set cutting conditions based on material thickness and type.
- Edit CNC programs and nesting layouts when required.
- Adjust nozzle, focal point, and cutting head settings to maintain cutting accuracy.
3. Production & Quality Control
- Ensure components are produced as per engineering drawings and tolerance limits.
- Conduct first piece inspection and in-process quality checks.
- Use measuring tools such as vernier caliper, micrometer, and gauges for inspection.
4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication.
- Identify machine issues and report them to the maintenance team or supervisor.
- Replace consumables such as nozzles, lenses, and filters when required.
5. Safety & Documentation
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements while operating machines.
- Maintain production records, machine settings, and job reports.
- Ensure work area cleanliness and proper material handling.
Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Fitter / Tool & Die or related field.
- 1–3 years experience in laser cutting machine operation and setup.
- Experience with Fiber Laser / CNC Laser / CO₂ Laser machines.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and machine setting.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and shop floor tools.
- Basic knowledge of CAD / Nesting software (AutoCAD, etc.) is an advantage.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹16,010.80 - ₹26,719.10 per month
