Job description:
An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Site Engineer oversees the installation, testing, and commissioning of building systems, ensuring they meet design specs, safety standards, and project schedules. Key duties include on-site supervision, coordinating trades, reviewing shop drawings, and resolving technical conflicts.
Responsibilities
- Site Supervision & Installation: Manage day-to-day installation of HVAC, electrical, fire protection, mecanical and plumbing systems to ensure compliance with drawings and regulations.
- Coordination & Technical Support: Coordinate with architects, subcontractors, and structural engineers to resolve on-site conflicts, such as service clashes.
- Quality Control & Safety: Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality workmanship and maintain strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare site reports, track progress, review subcontractor shop drawings, and maintain material approval records (MARs).
- Testing & Commissioning: Supervise pre-commissioning and testing of MEP systems to ensure they function efficiently.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Proven experience as an MEP Site Engineer or similar role in construction.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, fire fighting, plumbing, electrical) and local building codes.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM software is highly desired.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills under pressure.
