Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager from the FMCG industry with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. The candidate will be responsible for managing the complete purchase process, vendor development, price negotiation, material planning and ensuring timely availability of required materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day purchase activities for the company.
- Identify, evaluate and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Source raw materials, packaging materials and other required items.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, quality and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs).
- Ensure timely procurement of materials as per production requirements.
- Compare quotations and maintain proper purchase records.
- Monitor supplier performance, quality and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with Production, Inventory, Warehouse, Accounts and Management teams.
- Maintain optimum stock levels and avoid overstocking or material shortages.
- Follow up with vendors for pending orders and deliveries.
- Conduct market research for pricing and availability of materials.
- Develop alternate vendors to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Maintain purchase reports, vendor data and documentation.
- Ensure purchases are made at competitive prices while maintaining required quality standards.
Required Experience & Qualification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement in the FMCG industry.
- FMCG / Food / Spices / Dry Fruits industry experience will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of raw material and packaging material procurement.
- Good vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Strong knowledge of purchase processes and documentation.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and purchase-related reports.
- Graduate/MBA/PGDM in Purchase, Supply Chain, Operations or a related field will be preferred.
