Job Title: Fertility Consultant
Summary:
The Fertility Consultant will provide expert counseling and guidance to individuals and couples seeking evaluation and treatment for infertility. The role includes clinical assessment support, treatment planning discussions, patient education, emotional support, and coordination with the IVF/ART team to ensure a seamless, safe, and empathetic patient journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed consultations with new and follow-up patients to understand their fertility history, concerns, expectations, and treatment goals.
- Explain diagnostic reports, treatment options (ovulation induction, IUI, IVF/ICSI, donor programs, fertility preservation, etc.), timelines, and likely outcomes in simple, non-technical language.
- Provide pre- and post-treatment counseling, including emotional support around treatment failure, pregnancy loss, or difficult decisions (donor gametes, surrogacy, etc.).
- Coordinate with fertility specialists, embryologists, nurses, and counselors to ensure all patient queries are addressed and the treatment plan is clearly understood.
- Obtain informed consent for recommended procedures, ensuring that risks, benefits, alternatives, and costs are transparently discussed.
- Guide patients on required investigations, medication schedules, cycle monitoring visits, and preparation for procedures (oocyte pickup, embryo transfer, etc.).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date consultation notes, consents, and follow-up plans in the EMR/clinic software as per clinic protocols.
- Participate in case discussions, clinical meetings, and multidisciplinary boards to optimize patient treatment strategies.
- Support patient retention and satisfaction through proactive follow-ups (calls/messages) and timely communication of reports and next steps.
- Educate patients on lifestyle factors affecting fertility (weight, smoking, alcohol, stress, sleep, environmental exposures) and advise when to involve allied specialists (dietician, psychologist, endocrinologist, andrologist).
- Assist in organizing and conducting patient education programs, fertility awareness camps, webinars, and support group sessions.
- Adhere to all regulatory, ethical, and documentation standards applicable to ART and fertility practice (including confidentiality and data protection).
Qualifications and Experience
You can create two tracks depending on your requirement:
Clinical Fertility Consultant (Doctor):
- MBBS with MD/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (or equivalent).
- Fellowship / certificate training in infertility, ART, or reproductive medicine preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in infertility / IVF clinic is desirable.
Non-physician Fertility Consultant / Counselor (Allied Health):
- Master’s in Clinical Psychology / Counseling / Social Work / Nursing / Life Sciences with relevant fertility training.
- Certification or formal training in fertility counseling / reproductive health counseling preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in counseling or patient coordination in a fertility or women’s health setup.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with high empathy and sensitivity.
- Ability to explain complex medical information clearly and non-judgmentally.
- Good understanding of fertility investigations, ART procedures, success rates, and common complications.
- Strong documentation, time management, and follow-up discipline.
- Comfort working with digital tools: EMR, teleconsultation platforms, CRM, and basic MS Office.
- Ethical mindset, respect for confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity around sexuality, marriage, and family-building choices.
Reporting and Work Conditions
- Reports to: Medical Director / IVF Consultant / Clinical Lead – Fertility.
- Works closely with: Embryology team, Nursing, Front Office/Patient Care Coordinators

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹120,000.00 per month
