Your leadership will involve setting clear, measurable objectives in partnership with risk and control specialists to drive continuous improvement.
Your role will include the proactive identification and comprehensive assessment of data governance risks, applying effective controls to mitigate potential issues while ensuring unwavering compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Taking charge of governance oversight, you will review and refine the Group’s data governance frameworks, ensuring that they deliver robust control mechanisms aligned with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
A key aspect of your contribution involves upholding the highest ethical standards, leading initiatives that reinforce compliance with BCBS 239 and related regulatory regimes, and fostering a culture where compliance and ethical conduct are central to operations.
You will collaborate closely with a broad range of stakeholders, including Global Business Operations, Global Process Owners, Corporate & Institutional Banking, and various Data teams, to harmonise governance strategies and swiftly resolve data-related issues.
- Define the scope and manage investigations of data quality problems highlighted through automated reports, stakeholder feedback, and thematic analyses.
- Prioritise and triage investigation backlogs, ensuring timely and effective action based on a structured prioritisation framework.
- Conduct detailed root cause analysis of data exceptions, incorporating knowledge of policies, processes, and system functionalities.
- Recommend high-level corrective actions to prevent recurrence of data quality issues.
- Coordinate with remediation teams regarding data enhancement and cleansing activities.
- Maintain transparent tracking of issue resolution progress with regular communications to stakeholders regarding data impact.
- Generate comprehensive data quality metrics and reports to support governance and decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for improving investigation processes, boosting efficiency, coverage, and accuracy.
- Assess and propose solutions for external barriers affecting investigation progress.
- Promptly escalate risks and concerns to all relevant parties following established protocols.
- Ensure strict adherence to information governance, data storage, and archival policies safeguarding sensitive data.
