We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Anti-DDOS (NetScout) L2 Engineer to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the detection, analysis, and mitigation of Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks using NetScout Arbor solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of network security principles, incident response procedures, and hands-on experience with NetScout Arbor products. The L2 Engineer will play a critical role in protecting our infrastructure and services from sophisticated cyber threats, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts for potential DDoS attacks using NetScout Arbor Pravail, TMS, and AIF platforms.
- Perform initial triage and analysis of detected DDoS incidents, identifying attack vectors, types, and sources.
- Execute immediate mitigation strategies and countermeasures using NetScout Arbor solutions to neutralize ongoing DDoS attacks.
- Collaborate with L3 engineers and other security teams to escalate complex or persistent attacks, providing detailed incident reports and analysis.
- Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes, improve detection mechanisms, and refine mitigation playbooks.
- Maintain and optimize NetScout Arbor DDoS mitigation systems, including configuration, policy updates, and performance tuning.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical DDoS incidents.
- Document all incident response activities, mitigation steps, and system configurations accurately.
- Assist in the development and improvement of DDoS detection and mitigation processes and procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest DDoS attack trends, vulnerabilities, and mitigation technologies.
