As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by actively monitoring and investigating issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying problems, analyzing system behaviors, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous engagement with system performance, troubleshooting complex scenarios, and collaborating with different teams to maintain service reliability and efficiency throughout the day.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
- Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of system issues and minimize downtime.
- Document findings and solutions clearly to support knowledge sharing and future troubleshooting efforts.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of support processes and tools to enhance service delivery.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members to foster their professional growth.
Experience in data engineering (SQL, Python, Databricks) Strong understanding of data modelling and data structures Basic to intermediate knowledge of semantic technologies (RDF, OWL, knowledge graphs) Experience with data pipelines and analytics/reporting (e.g. Power BI) Understanding of data integration and interoperability concepts
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Data Engineering.
- Experience with data pipeline development and maintenance to support business-critical applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex system interactions and dependencies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and their integration with data engineering workflows.
- Ability to work with large datasets and optimize data processing for performance and reliability.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation to streamline support and monitoring tasks.
