Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation
- Operate compression moulding machines for manufacturing rubber gaskets as per production plan.
- Load rubber compounds into moulds and control heating, pressure, and curing cycles.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust parameters (temperature, pressure, time) as required.
Setup & Changeover
- Perform mould changes and machine setup for different gasket sizes and specifications.
- Ensure proper alignment and clamping of moulds.
- Prepare raw materials and ensure correct compound usage.
Quality Control
- Inspect finished gaskets for defects such as cracks, bubbles, improper curing, or dimensional inaccuracies.
- Use measuring tools (vernier caliper, gauges) to verify product dimensions.
- Follow quality standards, SOPs, and work instructions.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
- Identify and report mechanical or process issues.
- Assist maintenance team in repairs when required.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety guidelines and use PPE (gloves, safety shoes, etc.).
- Ensure safe handling of hot moulds and rubber compounds.
- Maintain clean and organized work area (5S standards).
Production Reporting
- Maintain records of production output, rejection, and downtime.
- Report shift-wise production performance to supervisor.
Qualifications & SkillsEducation
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Rubber Technology or equivalent
- Minimum: 10th/12th pass with relevant experience
Experience
- 2–5 years experience in compression moulding, preferably in rubber gasket or rubber products manufacturing
- Freshers with relevant training may also be considered
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of compression moulding process
- Understanding of rubber compounding and curing process
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings
- Familiarity with measuring instruments
Working Conditions
- Shop floor / manufacturing environment
- Exposure to heat, noise, and rubber processing chemicals
- Shift-based work (day/night rotation)
