Job Purpose
The HR Manager will lead and manage all human resource functions of the institution, ensuring that the school attracts, develops, and retains high-quality staff. This role is pivotal in aligning HR practices with the institution’s mission of educational excellence, while maintaining compliance with labor laws, CBSE regulations, and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Staffing
- Plan and manage manpower requirements.
- Prepare job descriptions and recruitment advertisements.
- Coordinate interviews, selection, and onboarding.
- Conduct induction and orientation programs.
- Maintain a talent pool for future vacancies.
2. Employee Relations
- Foster a positive and professional work environment.
- Address employee grievances and resolve workplace issues.
- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and effective communication.
- Drive employee engagement and well-being initiatives.
3. Performance Management
- Coordinate annual performance appraisal processes.
- Support department heads in goal setting and reviews.
- Monitor employee performance and development plans.
- Recommend promotions, confirmations, and disciplinary actions.
4. Training & Development
- Identify training needs for teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Organize professional development programs and workshops.
- Maintain training records and evaluate program effectiveness.
5. HR Operations
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
- Manage attendance, leave, and employee database.
- Oversee appointment letters, confirmations, transfers, and exit formalities.
- Ensure confidentiality of employee information.
6. Payroll & Benefits
- Coordinate payroll inputs with Finance.
- Monitor statutory deductions and employee benefits.
- Ensure timely processing of salaries, reimbursements, and incentives.
7. Compliance & Policy Administration
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and statutory requirements.
- Implement HR policies, employee handbook, and code of conduct.
- Maintain records required for audits and inspections.
- Support compliance with CBSE and other regulatory bodies.
8. Culture & Engagement
- Organize staff recognition programs and celebrations.
- Conduct employee satisfaction surveys.
- Promote a culture of ethics, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
9. Exit Management
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze turnover trends.
- Ensure proper clearance and documentation during separation.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, MBA (HR), or equivalent.
- 5–8 years of HR experience, preferably in schools or educational institutions.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, payroll practices, and HR systems.
