About the Role
S.T. College of Health Education is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and academically accomplished Professor & Head – Nursing Education & Academics to provide strategic academic leadership and strengthen the quality of nursing education within the institution.
The successful candidate will be responsible for academic planning, faculty leadership, curriculum implementation, regulatory compliance, student development, and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning in accordance with applicable norms and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall academic leadership for the Nursing Education Department.
- Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate academic programmes and teaching activities.
- Ensure effective implementation of the prescribed nursing curriculum.
- Lead, guide, mentor, and evaluate faculty members.
- Develop academic calendars, teaching plans, lesson plans, and departmental schedules.
- Ensure compliance with applicable requirements of the Indian Nursing Council (INC), State Nursing Council, Bihar University of Health Sciences (BUHS), and other statutory/regulatory authorities, as applicable.
- Maintain and supervise academic records, documentation, attendance, internal assessments, and examination-related activities.
- Monitor the quality of classroom teaching, clinical education, practical training, and student performance.
- Coordinate with hospitals and clinical training facilities to ensure effective clinical learning experiences.
- Promote faculty development, research, innovation, seminars, workshops, and academic activities.
- Establish and maintain systems for academic quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Guide students in academic, professional, and career development.
- Participate in institutional planning, inspections, regulatory visits, and accreditation-related activities.
- Work closely with the Management and Principal to achieve the institution's academic objectives.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- M.Sc. Nursing in a relevant Nursing specialty from a recognized institution.
- Eligibility and experience as prescribed for the position of Professor & Head under applicable INC and other regulatory norms.
- Significant teaching and academic leadership experience in a recognized nursing institution.
- Strong understanding of nursing education, curriculum implementation, clinical training, academic administration, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a senior academic leadership position in a Nursing College.
- Experience in handling regulatory inspections and compliance processes.
- Ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary faculty team.
- Strong commitment to academic excellence and student development.
- Experience with institutional development, quality assurance, and academic planning will be preferred.
