Job Summary:
An Operation Theatre (OT) Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OT Nurse assists surgeons and anesthetists, maintains sterile conditions in the operation theatre, and ensures patient safety throughout the surgical process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operation theatre for surgical procedures.
- Check and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations.
- Monitor patient condition before, during, and after surgery.
- Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of biomedical waste.
- Assist in administering medications and anesthesia preparation.
- Maintain operation theatre records and patient documentation.
- Coordinate with doctors, anesthetists, and nursing staff.
- Ensure all surgical equipment is functioning properly.
- Provide post-operative care and patient monitoring.
- Follow hospital safety policies and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma / B.Sc Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registered Nurse certification.
- OT Nursing experience preferred.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments.
- Sterilization and infection control knowledge.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and emergency situations.
- Patient care and monitoring skills.
- Attention to detail and time management.
Working Conditions:
- Rotational shifts including night duty.
- Standing for long hours during surgeries.
- Exposure to surgical and emergency environments.
Experience:
- Fresher or experienced candidates can apply.
- Minimum 1–2 years OT experience preferred for senior roles.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
