Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a background in medical device sales/purchase to drive business growth. The candidate will focus on building strategic partnerships, acquiring new customers, expanding market reach, and managing the complete proposal lifecycle including RFPs, RFIs, and contract closures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Expansion & Growth
Identify and develop new business opportunities in hospitals, rehab centers, and healthcare institutions
Build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, purchase managers, and distributors
Conduct market research and competitor analysis
Develop strategies to increase market share and revenue
2. Sales Strategy Development
Create and execute sales plans to meet targets
Deliver product presentations and value propositions to clients
Negotiate and close contracts with key stakeholders
3. Proposal Development & RFP Management
Manage end-to-end proposal lifecycle (RFPs, RFIs, tenders)
Draft techno-commercial proposals with pricing and solutions
Collaborate with clinical, product, and finance teams
Maintain proposal templates and documentation
Participate in pre-bid meetings and client presentations
Improve proposal success rates through continuous refinement
4. Customer Relationship Management
Build long-term relationships with clients
Act as the main point of contact for customer queries and support
Gather feedback to improve products and services
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with marketing, product, and clinical teams
Share market insights to support innovation
6. Reporting & Forecasting
Track sales performance and pipeline
Prepare reports and forecasts
Monitor KPIs and business growth metrics
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in business development or sales in medical devices/healthcare
Experience in proposal writing, RFP/tender handling, and contract negotiation
Preferred Skills:
Strong B2B sales experience in healthcare/medical technology
Knowledge of prosthetics and orthotics industry
Understanding of government and private healthcare sales cycles
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proven ability to achieve sales targets
Strong analytical and reporting skills
Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office
