Job Summary:
The Quality Line Inspector is responsible for monitoring production processes, inspecting products at various stages of manufacturing, identifying defects, and ensuring that products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process inspection during production.
- Conduct hourly line inspections as per the quality plan.
- Verify product dimensions using measuring instruments.
- Identify and segregate non-conforming products.
- Maintain inspection records and quality reports.
- Monitor process parameters and quality checkpoints.
- Report quality issues to the Production and Quality departments.
- Ensure implementation of quality standards and work instructions.
- Conduct first-piece approval after machine setup.
- Verify corrective actions for quality problems.
- Support customer complaint investigations and CAPA activities.
- Maintain 5S and safety practices in the inspection area.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of quality inspection methods.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Plug Gauge, and Thread Gauge.
- Basic knowledge of quality tools and defect analysis.
- Good observation and communication skills.
- Basic computer and MS Excel knowledge.
Qualification:
- ITI / Diploma / Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection.
- Experience in manufacturing or engineering industries preferred.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- In-process rejection percentage.
- Inspection accuracy.
- Timely inspection report submission.
- Reduction in customer complaints.
- Defect detection effectiveness.
- Compliance with quality procedures.
Working Conditions:
- Shop floor environment.
- Standing and inspection activities during production shifts.
- Coordination with Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
