Job Context:
Captive Thermal Power Plants supports the production of Aluminium at units of Hindalco Industries Limited. This role contributes to reliable and uninterrupted power supply to the smelters by ensuring reliability and availability of allocated instrumentation equipment through maintenance activities that include predictive and preventive maintenance as well as breakdown maintenance activities. The scope of work involves maintenance of instrumentation aspect of large number of allocated equipment and control systems, DCS, PLCs and Governing Systems with multiple panels of generators, power transformers, boiler drives, ESP. It includes planning and commissioning CAPEX projects involving instrumentation aspects of allocated units. A critical element of this role is to handle the instrumentation aspects of annual overhauling of units under jurisdiction within stipulated time with all specification compliance. An important aspect of the role is to operate, monitor and maintain the pollution monitoring equipment and systems to ensure seamless connectivity with the SPCB and CPCB. This role requires implementation as per statutory guidelines. This includes projects to upgrade the emission monitoring and control such as FGD, SOX/NOX etc. stipulated by statutory bodies, company norms, safety guidelines etc. Critical elements of this role are integration of the Distributed Control System for the plant power generation and SCADA/ Intelligent Load Management System, maintaining the C&I aspects of compressed air system for the plant, dust extraction and suppression systems and leading digitalization initiatives for the unit.
