Security Guard Responsibilities:
- Surveillance & Patrol: Regularly patrol assigned areas, inspect property access points, and continuously monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems.
- Access Control: Authorize and manage the entry of employees, visitors, and vehicles to prevent unauthorized access.
- Incident Response: Act as the first line of defense during emergencies (e.g., fires, medical incidents, security breaches). Apprehend trespassers and coordinate with police, fire, or medical personnel when necessary.
- Reporting: Maintain detailed logs of daily activities and write objective, comprehensive reports on security incidents or safety hazards.
Key Requirements:
- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand or walk for long periods, patrol large properties, and occasionally work in varying weather conditions.
- Ex defense person is required.
- Situational Awareness: Strong observation skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.
- Licensing & Education: High school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Depending on your region, officers often need state-issued licenses or certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, or a Security Industry Authority (SIA) license for UK-based roles).
- Technology: Proficiency in operating modern security software, alarms, and communication tools.
