Role description
The L2 Network Security Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support of enterprise network security platforms, including Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco Firewalls, Azure WAF, Azure Firewall, F5, NAC (Cisco and Aruba). The role ensures the availability, performance, and security of network security infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities -
a. Monitor and manage Azure WAF, Azure firewalls, Fortinet Firewalls and Cisco Firewalls environments.
b. Monitor and manage F5, NAC solution (Aruba, Cisco)
c. Monitor and manage Zscaler (ZIA & ZPA)
d. Perform firewall rule analysis, implementation, and validation as part of approved change requests.
e. Troubleshoot firewall, VPN, NAT, routing, and connectivity-related incidents.
f. Perform health checks and monitor firewall performance, capacity, and availability.
g. Support firewall policy reviews and cleanup activities.
h. Investigate and resolve security s related to firewall technologies.
i. Support software upgrades, patching, and firmware updates under guidance from senior engineers.
j. Coordinate with vendors for incident resolution and TAC support cases.
k. Maintain firewall configurations, backups, and operational documentation.
l. Support audit activities by providing required logs, reports, and evidence.
m. Collaborate with SOC, Network, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams during incident investigations.
n. Ensure compliance with change management and operational procedures.
