- Additional certifications in Quality Management, NDT, Six Sigma, or Core Quality Tools will be an added advantage.
Job Summary
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will be responsible for developing, qualifying, monitoring, and improving the quality performance of casting suppliers. The role requires strong knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous casting processes, metallurgy, quality systems, supplier audits, process controls, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure consistent product quality and delivery performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Quality Management
- Evaluate and qualify new casting suppliers through audits and capability assessments.
- Monitor supplier quality performance through KPIs, PPM, NCRs, and corrective action closure.
- Drive supplier development activities to improve quality, delivery, and process capability.
- Conduct regular supplier process audits and product audits.
Product & Process Quality
- Review casting manufacturing processes including sand casting, investment casting, shell molding, gravity die casting, and pressure die casting.
- Assess process parameters affecting casting quality and metallurgical properties.
- Validate PPAP documentation and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Ensure supplier adherence to control plans, process flow diagrams, PFMEA, and work instructions.
Problem Solving & Corrective Actions
- Lead investigation of casting defects such as:
- Porosity
- Shrinkage
- Inclusion
- Misrun
- Cold shut
- Cracks
- Dimensional variation
- Surface defects
- Drive root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and other quality tools.
- Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions implemented by suppliers.
Metallurgical & Technical Support
- Review metallurgical reports, chemical composition analysis, and mechanical test reports.
- Evaluate heat treatment processes and microstructural requirements.
- Interpret metallographic examination results and material specifications.
- Support supplier process improvement initiatives related to metallurgy and casting quality.
Quality System Compliance
- Ensure supplier compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (if applicable), and customer-specific requirements.
- Participate in APQP, PPAP, and supplier quality planning activities.
- Support internal and external audits.

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
